PRECISION DRY ICE CLEANING

Oil and Gas Equipment Dry Ice Blasting

Mobile dry ice blasting for oil and gas equipment exteriors, drilling machinery, compressors and fin-fan coolers. Service across NY, NJ, PA and DE.

Precision Dry Ice Cleaning provides oil and gas equipment dry ice blasting for equipment maintenance across NY, NJ, PA and DE. We remove grease, oil and attached surface contamination from machinery exteriors, drilling support equipment, compressor housings and heat-transfer equipment.

Plan the cleaning around the next inspection, service task or outage. A dry process adds no wash water, cleaning solvents or abrasive grit. Define the assets, deposit locations and maintenance sequence so cleaning has a clear place in the work plan.

Oil and gas equipment dry ice blasting applications

Drilling and field support equipment

Clean greasy equipment frames, pump housings, power-unit exteriors and drilling support machinery during maintenance. Include oil, carbon or hydrocarbon deposits by name and location. Separate external surface cleaning from opening machinery or cleaning internal process passages.

Dry ice blasting for compressors and gas equipment

Remove oil and grease from compressor casings, stands, supports and surrounding equipment surfaces. Clean external fittings and inspection areas before maintenance personnel begin their work. Identify seals, instrumentation, insulation and retained coatings in the cleaning scope.

Fin-fan coolers and heat-transfer equipment

Remove attached dust and oily contamination from fin-fan coolers, radiator fins and heat-exchanger exterior surfaces. Deposits in the air path are a maintenance target where fin condition and access matter. Record the cooler construction, affected areas and equipment-owner instructions before work.

Pump, piping and vessel exteriors

Clean oily buildup from pump housings, pipe exteriors, supports and tank or vessel exterior surfaces. Use our tank and vessel exterior cleaning service for that asset scope. Vessel entry and internal process cleaning are separate requests.

Cold Jet documents drilling machinery, compressor casings, fin fans, radiators, pumps and other assets in its oil and gas dry ice blasting application guide.

Equipment dry ice blasting before inspection and maintenance

  • Clear external inspection areas. Remove grease and oily deposits from the surfaces your maintenance team needs to inspect.
  • No wash water or wash-water drying stage. Dry ice changes to gas during the cleaning step.
  • No spent blasting grit. Collect the removed contamination under the facility’s residue-handling plan.
  • A defined outage task. Group equipment cleaning between asset release and the next inspection or repair.

Use planned shutdown cleaning for several assets within an outage. For repeat equipment visits, build a maintenance cleaning program around the actual deposit locations and service schedule.

Oil and gas coverage alongside petrochemical plant cleaning

This page covers field, compression, gas processing and related equipment-maintenance applications. Our petrochemical plant cleaning page focuses on process-equipment exteriors and plant turnaround work. Link the requested cleaning to the actual asset and maintenance task.

For generators and associated mechanical assets, see power generation cleaning. Electrical equipment uses a separate de-energized electrical cleaning scope.

Prepare the work area and equipment

Send the equipment list, photographs, deposit identity, material safety information, location and proposed work dates. Identify instrumentation, coatings, open connections and other surfaces that need protection. Your site team defines equipment isolation, work permits, area classification and access.

Plan ventilation, separation from other work and collection of removed oil or process residue. Dry ice leaves no persistent blasting medium, but removed contamination still needs the facility’s handling and disposal arrangements. Include restricted areas or vessel-entry requests explicitly rather than treating them as part of exterior cleaning.

Oil and gas equipment dry ice blasting questions

Does this include fin-fan and radiator cleaning?

Fin fans and radiator fins are documented dry ice blasting applications. Include the cooler type, condition, deposit and access details so those surfaces are listed in the equipment cleaning scope.

Can dry ice blasting be used on operating equipment?

Equipment condition and isolation are defined by the site’s authorized personnel. A general dry ice cleaning application does not authorize work on moving, energized or classified-area equipment. Plan the visit around the condition in which the site releases each asset.

Does cleaning include rust removal or a coating profile?

Heavy corrosion, complete coating removal and an abrasive surface profile are separate requirements. State the required final condition in the inquiry so surface preparation is specified alongside, or separately from, deposit removal.
