Plan shutdown cleaning before production stops

Provide an equipment list, preferred sequence, available cleaning hours, and the other trades working nearby. The scope should distinguish setup, active cleaning, inspection, and handover.

Agree on site responsibilities.

Identify who handles isolation, disassembly, guarding, access equipment, waste containers, and inspection. Confirm compressed-air arrangements, ventilation assessment, and work-area separation before scheduling.

Include a plan for unexpected deposits, inaccessible areas, and conditions that need a different removal method.

Use clear completion criteria.

A shutdown cleaning scope should describe the target condition for each asset and who accepts the work. Equipment restart remains subject to the facility’s authorization and procedures.

Build a work sequence rather than one equipment total

List each asset, its cleaning objective, when it becomes available, and when it must be returned. Identify dependencies on isolation, guard removal, maintenance work, inspection, and other contractors. Name the person responsible for making each area ready.

Set priorities before the shutdown starts

Separate essential tasks from work that can move to another window. Agree on how the scope changes if access is delayed or the starting condition differs from the review. Include setup, residue collection, inspection, and handback time within the schedule.

Connect the shutdown to application-specific requirements

Use machinery cleaning, foundry tooling cleaning, and weld-cell cleaning for the equipment details. Printing and food-processing assets should retain their own inspection and release criteria.

Review day, shift, and project pricing and provide the site location. After the initial work, use scheduled maintenance to plan the next interval.
