A machinery-cleaning scope starts with an asset list. Identify each machine, the surfaces that need attention, the buildup, and the condition your maintenance team needs to inspect after cleaning.

Dry ice blasting is used for selected grease, oil, and production deposits on accessible equipment surfaces. The suitability of a particular deposit and finish needs assessment. Internal machine work, electrical work, repairs, and dismantling should be identified separately.

Define the surfaces and the access

Separate accessible housings, frames, guards, and production surfaces from areas behind panels or inside equipment. Supply overall photographs, close-ups, asset identifiers, and any manufacturer cleaning restrictions.

Describe the route to the machine, surrounding operations, equipment isolation, and which parts your team will remove. Identify surfaces or components that should be excluded. Do not assume cleaning can take place while the equipment operates.

Plan a representative test

Choose an area that represents the deposit and access conditions of the larger scope. Agree on the cleaning objective and the inspection method before comparing the result.

Record the area, starting condition, preparation, time used, and remaining deposits. A useful test should also identify where access or another process is required.

Connect related production applications

Use adhesive and production residue cleaning for a deposit-specific scope. For tooling, follow injection mold cleaning or rubber mold cleaning. Weld fixtures and robotic equipment have separate component and access requirements.

Build recurring maintenance from the baseline

For scheduled maintenance, identify inspection points, buildup patterns, and the assets that need repeat attention. A first clean provides a scope to review; the interval should reflect your actual operation.

For several assets during a planned shutdown, provide the order in which machines become available and the required handback times. Review pricing and material allowances before agreeing on the program.
