CLEANING APPLICATION

Tank and Vessel Exterior Dry Ice Cleaning

Tank and vessel exterior dry ice cleaning for shells, supports and surrounding equipment. Remove deposits before maintenance and inspection.

Precision Dry Ice Cleaning provides tank and vessel exterior dry ice cleaning for shells, supports and surrounding equipment. Remove deposits before maintenance and inspection.

Deposits removed from tank and vessel exteriors

We remove grease, oil, dirt and identified process deposits from shells, supports, external pipework and accessible framework. Internal vessel cleaning, corrosion treatment and complete coating removal remain separate scopes.

Operational benefits

  • Expose shell surfaces and external fittings for inspection.
  • Clean installed exteriors without a water rinse or spent grit.
  • Coordinate deposit removal with plant access release and the following maintenance task.

Non-toxic dry ice and eco-friendly cleaning benefits

Dry ice is a non-toxic cleaning medium. Dry ice blasting cleans with solid CO₂ and compressed air without detergents, solvents, wash water or added abrasive grit. Its environmental benefits include no chemical rinse water and no spent blasting media from the blasting step.

Food-grade dry ice is a food-safe cleaning medium used for food-processing equipment. Food-facility cleaning still follows the site’s sanitation, allergen-control and equipment-release procedures.

The dry ice turns into gas. Removed deposits still require collection, and ventilation and protective equipment remain part of the cleaning setup.

Set the tank exterior dry ice cleaning boundary

  • Identify the tank shell, support legs, accessible framework, and surrounding surfaces included.
  • Mark insulation, cladding, labels, instruments, valves, and protective coatings to preserve.
  • Distinguish process residue from corrosion, deteriorated coatings, and damaged components.
  • Show access heights, obstructions, overhead work, and nearby operating equipment.

This is an exterior-cleaning scope. Tank entry, internal product-contact cleaning, process decontamination, and opening a vessel are separate activities and should not be assumed part of the proposal. State any preparation your plant or specialist contractor will complete before access is released.

Deposits we remove from tank and vessel exteriors

Provide the material or process that produced the deposit and any relevant handling information. Include whether the surface is stainless steel, painted steel, another metal, or coated equipment. A representative test should demonstrate both removal and the condition of the retained finish.

If the real objective is corrosion removal or preparation for a new coating, start with the rust and corrosion guide. Cleaning away a deposit does not repair pitting or establish a specified abrasive profile.

Coordinate with the plant’s work plan

The facility should identify equipment status, isolation, access permissions, restricted areas, and the contractor responsible for any lifts or platforms. Confirm the air supply and containment arrangement as part of the review rather than assuming plant utilities are available.

Plan the collection route for removed material, including what may fall below the work area. If the job supports an inspection, identify the inspector, the surfaces that must be visible, and the condition needed at handback. Cleaning is not a vessel integrity inspection or a pressure-equipment certification.

Request a tank exterior dry ice cleaning quote

Send wide and close-up photos, approximate dimensions, deposit information, surface details, and the available access window. Include the owner’s acceptance criteria and any areas excluded from the job.
